If you own a business or work in one of Kentucky’s Appalachian Counties, your electricity may come from a municipal power company, a rural electric cooperative or an investor-owned utility. Your place of work may use propane gas or natural gas, or no gas at all. Water and sewer treatment may be offered by a county resource or a municipal one.
To start saving on any utility bill, it’s important to know what customer class you are and what the rates are for that class.

More information can be found at each utility’s website or at the Kentucky Public Service Commission or Kentucky Municipal Utilities Association. Each utility must make its tariff public.
