berea friends meeting house

Berea Friends Meeting House in Berea, Kentucky, wanted to save operating costs and reduce its carbon footprint. The meeting had a small budget to make an improvement to its facility. Based on MACED’s E3 team recommendation, decision-makers chose to upgrade eight incandescent bulb exit signs with eight LED exit signs.

Because exit signs are in use 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, they offer a considerable carbon reduction opportunity!

After reviewing the church’s utility rate which, at the time, was $.066 per kWh (including taxes & surcharges), MACED calculated what the church would save.

Given this information, the church decided to act. MACED ordered the necessary exit signs for the church and delivered them. The church paid $192 for the equipment. Cost savings on electricity will pay for the equipment in just over a year!
